It's the final indignity, to be stabbed to death by a demon wielding an angelic blade.

In retrospect, Hester regrets she lost her temper. She wouldn't take back a word she said to Castiel, and she doesn't much care that she hit him, either, but trying to kill him, even after Inias tried to intervene--that was unworthy. Maybe she deserved what she got, after all.

That doesn't mean she has to like it.

She finds herself cold and alone, in a landscape marked by strange, frozen dark forms, like enormous points of obsidian jutting up to a pale sky. She can't feel her wings, can't feel her Grace, but she's conscious. She still exists.

Who knew angels got an afterlife? It's not a very pretty one, alas.
